Major high street retailer Next has been unveiled as the anchor tenant at the Belle Vue Mills development on Broughton Road, Skipton.
The UK based fashion and home products retailer has singed a long lease with developer Novo Homes and is planning to take 13,500 sq ft of space in a glass fronted unit over 2 floors in the atrium of Belle Vue Mill, which will open onto Broughton Road. The store is due to be ready in time for the 2009 pre Christmas trading period.
A spokes person for developer Novo Homes said: ‘We are delighted to announce Next as our anchor tenant. To have attracted such a prestigious and iconic high street brand to Belle Vue Mills is testimony to the development and will help us achieve our aim of creating an exceptional retail environment, focussing on quality fashion, along with leisure units, to give customers a memorable shopping experience.
‘Belle Vue Mills is a high quality development and will provide exactly the right kind of retail environment for Next. The proximity to the town centre and the adjacent supermarkets will ensure excellent footfall.’
Belle Vue Mill is part of a £40 million mixed use environment which will combine a choice of residential properties, leisure facilities and commercial office space as well as a number of retail outlets.
‘We hope the news that Next is taking retail space will encourage other retailers to follow suit. It will also provide proof to potential residents that they will be in very good company if they buy a property at Belle Vue Mills,’ commented the spokes person for Novo Homes.
The developer has just released phase 2 of the development, Brewery Wharf. This is an exclusive waterside terrace at the rear of the development comprising of ten, 3 bedroom townhouses and three, 2 bedroom apartments. It is surrounded on 2 sides by the Leeds- Liverpool canal and Eller Beck to provide true waterside living.
